‘In a time where we felt like we were collectively were hurtling down hill in a car with the wheels about to come off, it gave me hope with each brush stroke. Not being particularly maternal and in no way a subscriber to religion, what was the need to recreate such an iconic symbol? With the world in such flux, uncertainty, grief we all did a deep dive. Our past archaic systems have left us wrung out and filled with dis-ease. We are in hanging on by the finger tips to the past, battling between the ‘now-next’ and some kicking and screaming to the NEW ERA. For me, Madonna & Child will always be a symbol of hope, compassion and humanity. The first touch of love, and our hopes of birthing a better world’
